and suddenly 2025 is on its way…..
Just letting you know what is in store for the beginning of the year - and beyond.
Should I start with "Happy New Year"? Sorry, it must be close to the cut-off date for wishing someone a Happy New Year. The first month is almost gone, so let me instead start by hoping you are all off to a good start to the year despite all the challenges the world is facing right now. Ryan Holiday is saying that “the obstacle is the way” in his book with the same name, and right now sure is a golden opportunity to turn obstacles in to advantages - for instance by nurturing some kindness and compassion in the world.
I have been quiet. I wish I could say it’s because it is winter and I like to nurture my Danish roots by practicing the art of silence, resting and hygge in these cold, dark months, but to be honest, it has been a busy start to the year. Here is an update on what is brewing in my life — hopefully, there is something in there that is of interest to you.
Retirement Transition Program for a Cohort of Individuals
First, I am excited to say that after numerous requests, Phronetiq has decided to offer our Retirement Transition Courses to individuals on an experimental basis. Guided by behavioral science and mindful aging, this program offers a comprehensive, structured approach to help you prepare for a new stage of life with confidence and clarity. I will facilitate the emotional challenges, while Uliana Shchelgacheva (MSc Behavioral Science, LSE) will ensure that participants leave with an actionable retirement transition plan.
Is this for you? You could be one of 10 selected highly motivated people who are about to (semi) retire in the next five years. We will put together an inspiring group across countries and vocations, all reflecting on new ways to approach retirement now that we can expect to live a lot longer than our forefathers did.
We meet 5 x 2 hours online over a 6 week period. The price? It is up to you! At the end of the program, you decide how much you think the support you have received is worth. All we ask is that you give us constructive feedback so we can make our offering to corporations even better.
Free Webinars
Phronetiq is continuing to offer free webinars on LinkedIn. Some are for leaders, HR, and DEI professionals, while others are of interest to anyone who is considering retirement. Have a look if these are for you.
Already tomorrow - but it is not too late to sign up! This webinar provides practical frameworks and tools to help employees explore their retirement options, evaluate potential paths, and reflect on their future with confidence. We'll also address common biases in retirement planning and offer ready-to-use resources for HR to guide meaningful discussions.
Join us for an enlightening webinar that explores the pivotal role our beliefs and thoughts play in shaping a successful transition into retirement.
In this interactive session, we will delve into how our perceptions of retirement—rooted in beliefs, experiences, and societal narratives—can significantly influence our wellbeing, motivation and overall transition process during this important life phase.
Retirement is undergoing a transformation. Aging trends, shifting perceptions, and evolving workforce needs are redefining how employees think about and experience retirement. To support this change, HR professionals must develop a deeper understanding of the aging workforce and create strategies to ensure successful retirement transitions.
In this webinar, we’ll explore how we need to move from a one-size-fits-all approach to personalised and flexible transitions.
NEW BOOK !!!
Finally, yes there is a new book on its way!!! I am so excited about this, especially because this time I am not alone in writing it. I have joined forces with fellow Scandic and Substack author
of Starting over at 65. In the last two weeks, we have been positively battling concept, title, table of content, marketing etc while sparring with the fabulous Alison Jones ( ) in her Business Book Proposal Challenge. The result is a framework for a new book - in just two weeks! We just need to write it now. You will of course hear more about it later, but for now I can reveal that it is going to be about the freedom that comes to women who are considered to be "past their prime" by others (and maybe themselves too). And that brings us back to the start of this post; how do we turn obstacles into advantages.
With lots of love, Berit
